PRESS RELEASE – San Clemente, CA (December 12, 2018)

Bemus Landscape is pleased to announce the appointment of Spencer Bemus to the position of Vice President of Tree Care. His roles include overseeing tree care operations throughout the Southern California region, which encapsulates Orange County, Inland Empire, and San Diego County. While directing this effort, Spencer will be responsible for the Plant Health Care (PHC), risk assessment, tree pruning, and overall health of the trees in the organization. In addition, he joins the executive team to help forecast growth and profitability for the division, while continuing to focus on customer service, high quality, and the safety of the tree care team members.

Before joining Bemus Landscape, Spencer played professional volleyball in Europe and Puerto Rico, representing the USA in professional leagues abroad. After retiring from volleyball, Spencer spent 2 years in the construction industry before embracing his tree care career. Spencer returned to Bemus Landscape where he worked as an entry-level gardener.

During his tenure at Bemus Landscape, Spencer has worked his way through various field level positions, ultimately spending that last 7 years as branch manager in San Diego. His commitment and hard work earned him several certifications, including his certified arborist license and tree risk assessment qualification.

We asked why Spencer likes working in trees, he said “The ability of trees to adapt to adverse conditions such as drought, physical damage, pests & diseases are truly amazing. When you couple the “nature” of trees with a “nurtures” mindset, through proper horticultural practices, the results are outstanding.” Spencer’s goal in tree management is to develop reasonable solutions for our customers to mitigate any potential hazards or risks while developing beautiful trees that enhance the properties aesthetics and value.

Spencer is married to his wife Heather of 6 years and currently lives in Carlsbad where he surfs, paddles, and enjoys woodworking. Please join us in congratulating Spencer Bemus as he takes his new role as Vice President of Bemus Landscape Tree Care.
